Morphe Ring The Alarm Palette

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill/The Vault:  Ring The Alarm Eyeshadow Palette

Hello Beauties! It's so good to be back talking about makeup.  I wanted to start off this blog with a new eyeshadow palette from Morphe in collaboration with Jaclyn Hill.  The vault collection contains 4 eyeshadow palettes.  However, you can buy the palettes individually for $15 which, is only for a limited time.

For my YouTube channel I used the Ring The Alarm palette.

Pros:
You get 10 beautiful autumn shades of matte and foil formula for $15.
Coming up with a makeup look was easy with this palette.
Not a lot of fall out even though I did use shadow shields under my eyes.
'Lolli' is a beautiful rose gold color and was my favorite out of the palette.

Cons:
No color for the brow bone area or at least a beige base for shadow.
The deep matte shades were very difficult to blend/patchy on the lids.
Not enough color pay off with the shimmer/foil shadows unless I wet my brush.

'Lolli'

Overall, I don't think that this is a must have palette because you can use the original Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette to re-create this look.  I chose to return my palette to the Morphe store because I was not ecstatic about the formula of the shadows.  The JH palette contains all of the colors and can be used as a dupe for the same colors in this collection.  Also, the JH palette contains shadows that are very easy to blend and have a better color pay off.  This is just my opinion and I still use my original JH palette for everyday makeup because it's one of my favorites.

You can take a look at my tutorial using the Ring The Alarm Palette

What are your thoughts? Do you own this palette? Or are you planning on getting any of the palettes in this vault collection?

Do tell!

How To Organize Your Everyday Makeup

Do you get overwhelmed by your makeup collection?
What if you're very busy like me & need your makeup on quick?
I've got an easy and affordable way to organize your everyday makeup

I took 2 of these 2 drawer cases and stacked them on top of each other

Each individual drawer was organized by my makeup application
You can organize your makeup however you want
This is just how my OCD mind works =)

Inside my first, top drawer are my face powders, highlighters

My second drawer houses my contour powders, bronzers, a concealer

The next drawer contains a few of my favorite blushes.

Finally, my last drawer
A few eye shadows, liners, mascara, brow products, lash glue, and primer
I also keep a pair of falsies, a tweezer, and 2 lip pencils for lipstick/stain

Now every month or so I switch out different products to keep me happy
This gives me a chance to use most of my makeup that's hidden in my storage
I need to do my makeup fast in the morning and this method helps a lot

How do you store your makeup?

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

So I finally decided to get my own makeup geek shadows and here they are!

This is a soft, matte, warm sandy color.
A perfect transition shade for blending out your shadow/diffuse harsh lines.

Chickadee is a warm yellow/orange shade that has a matte finish.
I love using a soft fluffy brush like the MAC #224 for a sheer effect.

Burlesque is a metallic burgundy shade with a brownish under tone.
I used it to define my outer crease and blended it out with chickadee.

I also appreciate that each back is labeled for shade reference.
The eyeshadows are very powdery but very easy to blend.

I enjoyed using these in my recent makeup tutorial.

Can't wait to get more!

September 2015 Favorites!

September was the month for liquid lipsticks and NYX!
Color:  Striking
It's no secret that I love a good liquid lipstick at an affordable price.
This matte lip cream is a beautiful plum/berry shade perfect for Fall/Winter.
It doesn't dry out my lips and you can't beat the price!

Color:  Sandstorm
Another affordable and popular liquid lipstick is by NYX.
If you're looking for that trendy 'greige' lip, then this is your color.
Flatters all skin tones and has a creamy texture.
Color:  Trap
If you're looking for a super matte lip, try this 'greige' shade from ColourPop.
It's very long lasting and doesn't smudge for hours.
Color:  Brown
Nyx lip pencils are so creamy, pigmented, and super affordable.
This brown lip pencil will work perfectly under any lipstick shade.
I can use it for a nude lip, dark lip, or for a mauve lip.
I love this coffee brown shade that is so pretty on it's own.
Color:  Yellow
For a brightening effect under my eyes, I use this yellow color from NYX.
It's lightweight, opaque, and easily blend able with my beauty blender.
Once I set it with powder, it doesn't fade throughout the day.

Color:  Black

I raved about this brow pencil in a recent blog post for a reason.
It's AMAZING!
I've used the Anastasia brow wiz and this is the exact dupe for it.
My eyebrow routine is super quick now and my brows look perfect.
You need this product in your life.

What are your favorite products?

ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lip

Color shown here:  Trap-a dusty grey (greige) shade

ColourPop cosmetics came out with their ultra matte lip colors this summer
The product goes on as a lipstick but dries to a matte formula

I chose Trap and it is the prettiest greige color that is so on trend right now

Your lips are going to be drenched with super opaque color that flatters all skin tones

I've been wearing Trap for a few hours and my lips never felt dry..amazing
As with every matte lip, exfoliate and apply lip balm prior to application

The best part about these ultra matte lips are that they won't break the bank
These liquid lipsticks are only $6!
I ordered Trap on a Friday and got it in the mail Tuesday morning
You also get a personal thank you note with your order from ColourPop

Try these amazing colors and you won't be disappointed!

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation

Shade shown here is 30 Warm Nude

A foundation that's actually good for your skin?

Here's the info:
-Med-full coverage
-SPF 15 with Actyl C to improve skin
-Oil-Free
Fortunately there's a pump included. I wish all drugstore foundations had one.

I like that it's not a runny foundation and the coverage is pretty good.
This foundation applies evenly and is very smooth on the skin.
I also like that there is a yellow undertone to the formula.
On top, the foundation is completely blended out.
On the bottom you can see how creamy the texture is.

Overall, it's a decent foundation.  My only problem was the pump.
The pump gets stuck and the product wasn't coming out easily.
I also didn't experience any breakouts or skin irritation.
