Laura Geller's MATTE MAKER Invisible Oil Blotting Powder

Total Shine Control?

So now that summer is practically here, bring on the oily, shiny face...eeeek!  I got so frustrated with translucent powders and mattifying gels that claimed to prevent that shine throughout my T-zone.  There are countless products that may work for some, but many have failed and done nothing for me.  I have extremely sensitive skin and needed something that would control my shiny T-zone without causing breakouts.  So let me introduce you to Laura Geller's Matte Maker Invisible Oil Blotting Powder.

What it is:  It is a sheer powder that absorbs oil to produce an even, matte finish on the skin.

What it does:  Even though it looks white in the pan, it goes on very sheer and smooth to set your makeup without a ghostly, caked on, powdery look/feel.  It can be worn under or over your primer, foundation, or tinted moisturizer.  It's different than a regular translucent powder because it feels like a silky veil on the skin and it blocks sweat and moisture as well.

Suitable for what skin type:  This product can be used for sensitive, oily, combination, and normal skin types.  For dry skin users, it's important to apply the product ONLY where you produce shine by using a large powder brush for a much more sheer application.  So far I have been using this powder for 2 months and have not had any clogged pores or breakouts anywhere.  I clean my makeup brushes every week and always use clean hands when applying my makeup.

Comparable to:  Urban Decay's De-Slick In A Tube Mattifying Gel and powder also work well to keep your makeup shine-free but  have caused severe breakouts on my skin.  This is the main reason why I stopped using that line of shine control products.

The Shiseido Eyelash Curler, Worth The Splurge?

Now I know that it can be frustrating to find a good quality eyelash curler out there when there's a zillion different ones that claim to be THEE one. But what makes the latest Shiseido eyelash curler worth the $19 price tag?

What it is:

This beauty tool allows you to not only curl your lashes which is obvious from the description, but it also has a larger more broader curve than its previous counterparts. It also comes with a replacement rubber pad when the other pad wears out or if you lose it.

What it does:
This larger curve allows you to curl your lashes without applying too much pressure to the lash line.  It also prevents the unflattering L shaped lashes or bent up straight lashes that most eyelash curlers produce.  The results you get are a more lifted and flared out curl with just a gentle squeeze of the curler.

Why so popular:

The Shiseido brand itself is known for high quality makeup, skincare, and beauty tools such as their eyelash curler. This tool will help you apply mascara with ease and help with false eyelash application. No longer will you have smashed or bunched up lashes after curling or no stray lashes sticking out of line.  False lashes can be placed more closely to the lash line without struggling because the hairs won't be bent straight up.

Tip:I also turn the eyelash curler upside down and curl my bottom lashes. I do this so that I can apply mascara on my bottom lash line without smudging or smearing my mascara by accident. It also provides a cleaner look to the bottom lashes without pinching or pulling on the eyelids.

Try it for yourself and let me know what you think =)
